The Word Counter & More is a free, browser-based writing toolkit that goes well beyond a simple word count. It gives you real-time readability scores (Flesch Reading Ease and Grade Level), sentence flow analysis, keyword density, platform character limits, text comparison, alphabetizing, case conversion, random word generation, and a webpage word counter — all updated live as you type, and all running entirely in your browser.
It also includes Read Aloud (with adjustable speed and Pause/Resume/Stop), Dictation, file upload (.txt, .docx, .pdf), and download — making it a practical daily writing companion rather than just a counter.
This is an independent project built and maintained by Celine C. It is not run by a large company, and there is no team behind it — just one person who wanted a word counter that actually told you something useful about your writing.
Most word counters online give you a number and nothing else. Writers, editors, students, and content creators need to know more than just how much they've written — they need to know whether it reads well, how long it will take an audience to get through it, whether their sentences are too long, and whether they're hitting platform character limits.
This tool was built to answer all of those questions in one place, without requiring an account, without storing your text on a server, and without cluttering the interface with features you'll never use.
